Higher, in fact, than the standards set by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for bottled water.  Bottled water makes more sense in countries where portable water is scarce, but the United States now consumes more bottled water than any other country in the world. Bottled water, which is regulated by the FDA, is not tested as thoroughly or as frequently as tap water, which is regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency. Obviously, we are a nation that falls for fads..and we fall hard! <br/><br/>The proof is in history. Have you ever heard of anyone becoming unhealthy because they drank tap water instead of bottled water? I have not. I have never heard of anyone getting fat or being deprived of vitamins and minerals from drinking tap water either.
