Dieting, A Wiser Weight Loss Approach

We live in a weight-conscious age where the media glamorizes thinness. As we stand queue up at supermarkets and drugstores, magazine headlines draw our attention to the trendiest weight-control techniques while images of thin celebrities lure us into losing weight. While a lot of diets look appealing, we should also consider whether or not they are really worth the hype and decide on the approach that is best for us.
Those of us who are not fitness experts can easily get confused. Should we consider fasting or dieting? Although both have their pros and cons, we will discover that the dieting is a far wiser approach toward healthy weight-control than fasting.
First of all, all diets differ in their requirements, ranging from low carbohydrate/high protein, to low fat, to low salt, to low sugar and from frequent meals to few meals.
A lot of publicity has been directed towards two very different weight-control methods: dieting and fasting.
1. Dieting involves eating small healthy meals every few hours. In dieting, portion size is as important as frequency of meals.
2. Fasting is on the other end of the spectrum. This is a short-term approach often used for rapid and extreme weight loss by models and celebrities who want to look their best for movies, videos, or photo shoots.
Both dieting and fasting have their own advantages and disadvantages. With dieting, you get the benefit of never experiencing hunger pangs. When fasting, you may experience a drop in blood sugar levels, causing you to reach a starvation mode and binge when it ends. But eating every three hours, you will have a satisfied stomach and nicer moods. When starving yourself, you experience side effects like grumpiness, dizziness, and headaches.
Unlike fasting, dieting actually increases your metabolism. In fact, dieting works well for your appearance as well, since eating every few hours reduces cartisol, which is responsible for belly fat. On the other hand, starving yourself causes your body to store fat, defeating the purpose.
Further, with dieting, you will have plenty of energy, letting you to go on with your normal daily schedule and even incorporate exercise into your weight-loss plan. In contrast, when fasting you will be sluggish and will only want to try it on your days off from work or school. However, by far the greatest benefits of dieting, as opposed to fasting, are that it is safe for anyone. It can even be developed into a lifestyle plan.

7 Tips for Successful Weight Loss

Many people want to lose weight but never succeed for various reasons. If you are serious about losing weight, here are some things you need to know.
Do you know that the key to successful weight loss lies in your muscle? Muscles is calorie hungry. A pound of lean muscle requires at least 35 calories each day to maintain itself while a pound of fat tissue needs only 2-3 calories per day. Hence, if you are able to add more lean muscles mass that will require more calories and will tap into the stores of fats you have in your body, you will be able to lose weight, in the form of fat tissue, permanently.
As a result, to embark on a successful weight loss program, you require 3 main components in your weight loss plan. They are:
Aerobic Exercises: To burn calories effectively and efficiently
Strength Training: To build lean muscles
Healthy Diet: To help cleanse and nourish your body
Incorporate 3 these components into your plan for the best result and here are 7 tips to get started
1. Set your goal. How much and by when do you plan to achieve the weight you want. Write them down. You may even want to do a mock photo of how you will eventually look like to motivate yourself.
2. Make a Plan. No way will just cutting down on what we eat produce any significant weight loss. We need the 3 components mentioned above to work together for maximum impact. So work out an action plan and stick to it. Remember if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
3. Put exercise sessions into your schedule and call it Time for Me. Make sure that no one or nothing will disturb you during this time.
4.Eat and Drink wisely. Start with more fiber. Fiber is good for the body under any circumstances but when we are trying to lose weight, it is even more important. Fruits and vegetables are low in calories and fat and they keep us from being so hungry. Simple substitutions are often the easiest way to cut calories. Drinking a diet soda instead of a regular soda every day will save you 15 or more pounds in a year. Eating a turkey sandwich with lettuce, tomato and mustard instead of a roast beef sandwich with mayonnaise just twice a week will save you another 15 pounds. Go through your fridge and pantry and simply throw out all the high calories, high fat snacks and food that are not in your plan. Water is nature’s magic elixir. It keeps our organs working with us to lose weight. Eight glasses of water or non-calorie drinks a day is essential.
5.Learn as You Lose. The more information you have about food and its relationship to weight, the better off you will be and not just while you are losing weight but after the weight is gone. You want to keep those pounds off!
6.Get Support. Enlist Your Family in Your Battle. Nobody can sabotage a diet faster than a spouse or significant other. Get them on your side from the start. Weight loss is hard at best but it does not have to be lonely. Join a Support group if that can help you.
7.Chart Your Progress. Keeping a Food Diary will help to get you to keep to the weight you want to be. A progress chart to show you how much weight you have lost will help to motivate to stay on task.
With these tips and information on hand, they are useless if you do not apply them. So, do not waste any more time. Commit yourself to your goals and plan and you will be on your way to a successful weight loss.

Weight Loss Pills: More Harm Than Good

Most women, it can be said, have an overwhelming desire to be always look good all the time. Every woman needs to feel beautiful physically. They also want to have a pleasant, alluring personality and attitude. Of course, to make it complete, women want to be in good health.

However, in society today, there is now a confusion about what is beautiful and what is plain vanity. Media distortion and exaggerated advertising campaigns have done a lot to shape the new standard in beauty: slim and sexy is beautiful. No wonder, even Hollywood’s glamorous women find it a requirement to have shapely curves especially during a photo shoot or during the Awards Night.

So, what is a woman to think, if she weighs around 180 pounds and above? Of course, the poor lady would have to think of an easy way out of being called “big” or “fat”. Taking over-the-counter weight loss pills would be the quickest, easiest, and most convenient way to lose weight. These weight loss pills are readily available in the market, with or without the approval of the FDA. It is seen everywhere — from the local drugstore, the supermarket, or any health food stores. One can even purchase these pills online, with a lot more options to choose from. These weight loss pills are said to make a person lose weight, decrease one’s appetite, reduce body fat, increase the amount of calories burned, increases fat metabolism, blocks the absorption of dietary fat, and increase the feeling of fullness with continued use.

There are a number of weight loss pills circulating the market today. Whether herbal or dietary supplement, these pills should be taken with caution. A woman’s health is at risk when taking such diet pills. Since these pills are available almost anywhere, it’s appealing to women who would want to lose weight fast. But everyone should consider in researching more on the said diet pills, since some of these pills can be downright dangerous for a woman’s health.

Bitter orange is considered as a diet pill. This dietary supplement claims to decrease appetite, but what a woman really needs to know is that this specific supplement is also an ephedra substitute. This substitute, however, may cause health risks similar to those of ephedra. Chitosan is another example, a diet pill that supposedly blocks the absorption of dietary fat. This particular drug is relatively safe but its its effectiveness is doubtful. This specific weight loss pill can also cause constipation, bloating, and other gastrointestinal complaints. Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), another diet pill, claims to reduce body fats, decreases appetite and also build up muscles. What people don’t know is that this weight loss pill can cause diarrhea, indigestion, and other gastrointestinal problems, and that is will not reduce a person’s total body weight. Ephedra, which also claims to decrease appetite, has a lot more side effects than any of the other diet pills. This can cause high blood pressure, heart rate irregularities, sleeplessness, heart attacks, strokes, seizures, and even death. This weight loss pill has already been banned from the market due to safety concerns but it can still be legally purchased as tea.

For consumers, especially women, it is hard to know what’s inside those pills. Most weight loss pills have a combination of different ingredients, some of which are just basically add-ons like caffeine or laxatives. These mixture of ingredients can pose a risk to a woman’s health, since the interaction between these ingredients is still unknown. The best way for women to lose weight is not by taking these so-called diet pills but to have an active and healthy lifestyle. Consider eating a good and balanced diet, together with physical exercise. And lastly, be happy with how you look. It’s not how heavy or sexy you are, it’s about confidence and having the right attitude towards life.

It may come as a surprise but models and actresses are quite often airbrushed in photos to make them look slimmer and more toned, it’s just a fancy trick. If your body weight is normal then you do not need to lose weight, even if you are a dress size larger than your favourite celebrity. There will be times in your life when you will gain weight, and this is natural and healthy. It is because of this that different people lose weight at different rates.Last, but not least, set realistic goals for losing weight. FAT MAN UNLEASHED BY GARAGE SALE

How can a garage sale do wonders for helping to create the before and after weight loss photos of your dreams? Well, obviously you could walk to and from various garage sales. To intensify the calorie burning experience, you could buy things and then have to carry then home, right? Here is a way to think bigger and better about how a garage sale can unleash the fat man or woman you want to leave behind.

A good friend of mine was just telling me how his wife had recently asked him to take a walk to check out the garage sale going on at a house in their neighborhood. This friend of mine has been carrying a few extra pounds.

What stood out to him when he got to the garage sale touched immediately on his personal weight loss images. He saw an elliptical machine that looked brand new. The seller told him the standard story about home fitness equipment. He said the thing was hardly ever used.

Amazingly, the asking price for this piece of equipment was only $25. It would cost hundreds to buy one new. Naturally, my friend asked the seller if he would take $20. The seller agreed. Am I the only one who doesn’t haggle at yard sales or garage sales?

Anyway, my friend felt so good about the bargain he got that it has been a major motivating force in his new attempt at weight loss. He says he has been using the elliptical every day. He is also improving himself with a healthier diet. And he is losing both weight and fat. The words he said to me as he smiled and raised his arms in the air in victory was “The Fat Man Unleashed!”

So the moral of the story is perhaps you should check out a garage sale near you this weekend. Maybe you can find a great deal that becomes the motivation or inspiration you need to help get the fat woman or fat man unleashed in your life.
