lose 10 pounds Archives

You know why you’re reading this— you’ve made a bold and scary decision to lose 10 pounds. You’re doing it for better health and more self-confidence…both you can get from shedding extra weight.
But losing weight is not instant, as if you wished on a magic lamp. While we live in a culture where we expect quick results, like fast food that’s ready in five minutes, losing 10 pounds doesn’t fit in this category.
Before you start a weight loss plan, you have to prepare yourself mentally for the challenge. Remember that losing 10 pounds won’t happen overnight. And give yourself time to adjust to the new you, especially if you’ve tried to lose weight in the past and failed.
First off, carefully inspect your eating habits. For instance, do you seem to eat more when dining with company than when you’re alone? Perhaps you and your spouse have a routine where you relieve stress by drinking hot cocoa every morning. Or, do you end up eating those delectable cupcakes you baked for the school sale.
Next, based on your current eating habits, decide on specific changes you can make. Maybe you can forget about baking for the school sale and find non-food ways to participate in fundraising. And you can switch to drinking green tea every morning instead of hot cocoa. Plus, if being a dinner guest puts pressure on you to overeat, you can politely leave before dessert or try small amounts of each course to avoid offending the host.
Once you have ideas for new eating habits, make up a day-to-day meal plan. For dining at restaurants and at friends’ homes, continue to stick to your routine as much as possible. Do your best to stay within limits and soon, you will thrive on controlled eating habits.
You should also look at your exercise routine to help you lose 10 pounds. Maybe you used to be extremely active, but now spend most of your time sitting, whether at home or at work.
Decide on exercise goals, beginning with the length of time you can devote. “I will exercise 1 hour a day,” sounds great, if you don’t have too many other commitments. However, if you’re busy, you may need to adjust to a realistic goal: “I will exercise 30 minutes a day,” may be better.
You can also vary the length of time you exercise to lose 10 pounds. For instance, you have bigger chunks of time during the weekend. Your goals could be to exercise 30 minutes during the weekdays and 1 hour on weekends.
When you exercise also matters. Maybe you’re an early riser and you have free time before you take the kids to school and head to your job. Then you could try to add exercise to your morning routine. On the other hand, you might barely get out of bed and arrive almost late for work. Yet you have time to spare after work, so you would try an evening exercise routine.
Next, we come to how you will exercise. Since most of us dread this word, you have to set your mind to view exercise as playing or having fun, not as a burden. And finding activities you enjoy turns exercise into fun. Whether you give rollerblading a try, or you join a bicycling club, search out and find “exercises” that you like.
After you know what exercises you will use, get a daily planner and write down specific exercises, the time you will start, and how long you will exercise. For instance, on May 30, 9 a.m., you write, “Ride bicycle, for 30 minutes.” As you can see, a detailed exercise routine keeps you from saying, “I don’t have time to exercise.”
You’ve probably made an observation— sticking to a routine with your exercise and eating habits makes losing 10 pounds easier. But, the routine can only help you if you commit yourself…so use determination to succeed and then you really will be successful in losing 10 pounds.

Want to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks? Well, I have great news! There is a way that you could lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks right at the comfort of your own home… without starving yourself! Take just two minutes out of your day to read this article and learn more.

First things first. Make sure that you always understand that nothing is going to work without knowing and practicing the core principles of a healthy lifestyle. The core principles are proper nutrition, drinking plenty of water daily, getting plenty of sleep every night, and doing both cardiovascular and weight training exercise.

Now, besides the core principles, the best way to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks is by using a new system called calorie shifting. This system is becoming extremely popular because, well, it is very effective. I myself have actually used this system before when I first started dieting. When I first started I weighed over 300 pounds and had a 44 inch waist! After just a few short months I lost over 50 pounds and several inches off my waist!

The way the system works is it allows you to firstly eat the amount of calories you are supposed to get on a daily basis, but it shows you how to manipulate the calories your body receives which would then cause a significant boost in your metabolism. This will lead to quicker weight loss and fat loss.

So, if you’re looking for the best way to lose 10 pounds in two weeks, then I highly recommend for you to look into and try out the calorie shifting diet plan.

Water is a natural appetite suppressant and it also aides in digestion by increasing your body’s natural metabolism. Water is my favorite part of my weight loss maintenance routine because it is so simple, easy, and effective. There are actually some foods that are so low on calories that digesting them burns more calories than the food had to begin with. Any decent diet plan will show you how to lose 10 pounds in a week by identifying these foods and including them in your diet program. Notice that I didn’t tell you to exercise? Although it is important to include exercise for health reasons, most overweight people are probably getting enough exercise as is. It is what they eat that keeps them from losing weight. However, after reaching your initial goal, it is important to incorporate exercise in order to tone up and stay healthy.

I desperately needed to lose weight for my wedding. I have lost 13 pounds on the first week, and 10 pounds on the second. This is quite a short time for losing weight, and not very healthy, I know. However, this quick weight loss success was a kick-start for my weight loss journey, and it motivated me to keep losing weight, following natural and healthy methods later. I am going to share every single step I followed on the second week, that helped me to lose 10 pounds in 7 days.
Please keep in mind that extremely fast weight loss is never healthy.
Here are the steps I followed after the first 7 days, to lose 10 pounds in a week:
1) First, I had a day of detox – to cleanse my body and lose weight even faster. I prepared a drink of lemon juice, ginger and honey mixed with water, and drank this detox drink during the day. Whenever hungry, I just drank it. I felt good, as I normally do, no cramps, no lack of energy, nothing. This was not hard at all, and I am sure it boosted my weight loss results. I know some people do the whole week of detox, but this is not for me.
2) I limited the amounts of foods, because I really needed to lose weight so fast. I had plenty of vegetables, lean meat, fish, eggs, and some fruits (mostly apples and oranges). My new rule of eating was this: half of the plate should be veggies (just tried to avoid too much potato), ¼ of the plate – white meat or fish, and the rest can be fruit (no bananas because they are too sweet and starchy). I know that eating less is not always an option for a long lasting weight loss. But it surely is an option for fast weight loss, and that`s what my goal was. An easier way to reduce the amount of food is to get a smaller plate. However, eating less was pretty hard, I admit. But I reached my goal, and I am so happy now.
3) I added 2 apples an one can of black beans to my daily diet. I had the beans as my main meal, or split them into 2 smaller meals and had with veggies on the side. This is a trick that no diets tell. And it works wonders, because 35 grams of fiber in a daily diet truly supercharges weight loss. These fibers clean the digestive tract and improve digestion.
4) I started to eat breakfast and stopped eating at night. 7 PM was the latest time of the day when I had my dinner. Breakfast boosted my metabolism and helped me to burn calories faster, although I never believed it could be so important for weight loss. It kept me energized as well. I got at least 10 glasses of water during the day, and I still do – water cleanses the body, increases metabolic rate, and does not let you feel hungry.
5) I distributed my usual calorie intake during the day. I started to eat 5 times a day, having smaller meals. This way I never had to go hungry.
6) I limited fat, sweet and not so healthy food, and whenever I felt like I need to eat something unhealthy, I moved those meals to the first part of the day. Because metabolism is higher in the morning compared to the evening, and this let me eat a donut or ice cream once every few days.
7) Instead of drinking juice, I had a fresh fruit every time. Juice is too sweet for weight loss, if you`re thirsty, get some water or unsweetened green tea. 8) I kept myself motivated and busy all the time. I know that when you`re busy, you have no time to go to the kitchen. This works wonders.

Free Tips To Help You Lose 10 Pounds

You see a 220-pound woman sobbing about her out-of-control weight on a television talk show. Then you hear the voice of 300-pound man addicted to food who is so ashamed he hides behind a newspaper.
Sure, some unfortunate Americans struggle with extreme obesity, but most of us don’t have a weight issue- except for a few pounds. You know binging and eating too much turkey and mashed potatoes every so often adds up to a little extra weight. To get a healthier body, you need to shed those pounds.
Having to lose 10 pounds may not be dramatic enough for a television talk show, but we can’t ignore this topic. In fact, we want to help…you can shed 10 pounds by following these tips:
Choose the Right Time
Trying to lose weight can have a strong influence on your sense of self-worth. If you notice the extra pounds dropping, you feel like a soaring eagle; on the other hand, not enough change in weight can eat away at your self esteem. That’s why you should begin at the right time, when you’re not trying out a new job, moving, or getting married. And you shouldn’t have any major problem to deal with, like a divorce or debt. In other words, the more stress you have, the less likely you’ll succeed in your plan to lose weight.
Choose Better Foods
Losing weight doesn’t mean going hungry. Simply go for balance, having a maximum of 30% of your calorie intake from fat. The rest of your calories can be from whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and high protein foods. Experiment with exotic recipes, using aromatic spices to flavor bland-tasting foods.
Record Your Progress
A great way to push yourself to success depends on seeing your daily progress, but how do you determine progress? You may weigh yourself every day and not notice any weight loss until a week has passed. Even after the scale shows one or two pounds of weight loss, you probably won’t see any difference in the mirror.
Instead, you can track your progress with a calorie chart: each day, record the amount of calories you take in and the number of calories exercise burns off. Subtracting away the burned calories leaves you with the net total, which you compare with your recommended daily value. Then you can see how well the plan works.
Join With Friends
Find a friend who also shared your desire to lose 10 pounds and motivate each other to reach this goal. Say you want to quit after the second week; your friend’s gentle prodding can help you go ahead with the plan. Or, if you can’t get off the couch, who else but a friend, wearing a jogging suit, can get you out of the house? And exercising turns into double the fun when you jog, or do aerobics, with a friend.
Be Realistic
Having a plan with a clear goal makes losing weight easier. But you should set a goal that you can reach, like losing one or two pounds a week. Most of us can handle this goal by making a few adjustments in our diet and exercise habits.
On the other hand, what if you decide to lose 10 pounds in three weeks? Then you would eat a lot less food than your body needs, giving you body not enough nutrients to survive. And exercising too much would overexert your body and can lead to injuries.
However, you can avoid injuries and poor health by setting up a goal that you can really meet. Although losing 10 pounds slowly may take longer, you won’t sacrifice your health and well-being in the process. Plus, once you lose the extra weight, you’ll know how to maintain your weight. That way you can stay healthy for the rest of your life.
